hup! walls for a modular house extension

A modular house extension starts with the walls, and hup! walls do a lot of the heavy lifting. Each panel is made to a fixed specification off site, then put up by our own team in Portsmouth, Chichester, Worthing and Guildford. The system works with most layouts, so going modular doesn't mean settling for a standard box on the back of your house.

Patented Ultrapanel technology

Every hup! wall is built with the patented Ultrapanel system, which brings timber, steel and high performance insulation together in one design. Steel gives it strength, timber gives it versatility and the insulation keeps the heat in, creating a robust structure that reduces thermal bridging and helps your AA Window Services extension stay warm and energy efficient all year.

Rapid construction

The clip fit technology in hup! walls and roofs means your new extension can be built up to five times faster than a traditional build. hup! can go up in almost any weather, so a small home extension can be built and watertight in as little as two to three days, with far fewer weather and scheduling delays to hold things up.

Light and slim

hup! walls are so lightweight that a modular house extension can often be built on an existing base, where heavier brick and mortar would usually need a new one. The panels are also easy for our own team to carry and position by hand, which helps keep the build moving quickly.

hup! walls are slimmer than a traditionally built wall too, giving you 10 to 15% more floor space than the same extension built in brick.

Energy Efficient

hup! walls are 6% more energy efficient than a fully Building Regulation compliant wall thanks to the large proportion of super-insulation in the panels.

Understanding the cost of a modular extension

What affects modular extension cost?

The size of your extension, the roof style, how much glazing you want and your choice of external finish have the biggest influence on modular extension cost. The hup! walls themselves are built to one fixed specification, so that part of the price stays predictable.

With AA Window Services managing the design, planning support and build as one team, you also avoid the extra costs that build up when separate trades are left waiting on each other.

hup! technology | A 60 year life expectancy, independently tested

The patented Ultrapanel system carries a minimum 60-year life expectancy, awarded by the British Board of Agrément (BBA) following independent testing and assessment. It's not simply a figure we've come up with ourselves - the system has been independently tested and verified, giving you confidence in its long-term performance.

What are hup! walls made of?

hup! walls are made from a patented combination of timber, steel and insulation, manufactured under controlled factory conditions. Each panel gives a wall U-value of 0.17, so your extension is warm and comfortable from day one.

How long will hup! walls last?

The Ultrapanel technology inside hup! walls carries a minimum 60 year life expectancy from the British Board of Agrément, awarded after independent testing. That gives you a proven long term figure rather than an estimate.

Does the weather affect a hup! wall build?

Much less than with brick. The panels are made indoors to a fixed specification and then assembled on site quickly, so there's no waiting for a dry spell or for mortar to set. That's a real advantage on exposed coastal plots around Portsmouth and Chichester.
